NYX: Antwerp Soft Matte Lip Cream

Hello everyone! Since i’m already running out of my favorite pink matte lip cream, I decided to make a review for you. I have this soft matte lip cream from Nyx Cosmetics in the shade Antwerp. I bought this for Php 300 ($6). I got this last May 2015 from my favorite online shop Prinsesitasarahcosmetics. They sell authentic cosmetics, I guarantee you, they’re trusted. They sell cosmetics at a very reasonable price.

Moving on, the packaging is so sleek and travel friendly. The sticker will really tell you that I’ve been using this lately. I also love that the top is in matte black, it helps a lot that the tube displays the actual color. But mind you, beware of fake Nyx cosmetics. They usually cost around 90 to 120 pesos. You can easily distinguish by looking at the packaging, click here for your guide.

I love the consistency of this lip cream. Matte lipsticks tend to be drying but this lip cream doesn’t give that dry feeling. Over all, I really like this lip cream. I will purchase other shades and will surely share it to you.

Pros:

♦ i love the scent, it reminds me of pastries

♦ lightweight

♦ not drying to the lips

♦ highly pigmented

♦ lasts for up to 3 to 4 hours

Cons:

♦ for dry lips, it can settle into fine lines since it is matte

Let’s all welcome September with hope and joy!

I’m back, hello bloggers! It’ been a while now, and a lot has changed. I got confused with the new features of Tumblr and I almost forgot how to blog. Where have I been? Aside that school took away a lot of my time, honest to goodness, I tried other blog platforms (though im inactive for that matter), but I always end up longing from where I started. I know that you all know how hard it is to delete posts, but I did. I started blogging since 2011, and for more than 4 years of my blogging life, it was so hard to let go of my 2,635 posts and they are not just simply posts, they’re memories. But I guess, you can’t enjoy what’s in store for you if you can’t let go what’s behind you. I’m not saying that we should forget the past, you know, if you get my point.

VACATION 2015

I’m back from a quick vacation with the whole family. I can’t believe we’ve been to a lot of place in a small span of time. My eyes were filled with so much beauty, from natural to man-made resources. Everything was just stunning. I was seriously expecting for a beach-y and burning summer but it all came out into a breezy and windy kind of summer. Let me start by introducing to you some.

Who wouldn’t recognize the famous Maria Cristina Falls? It’s probably the most legendary falls in the country. It’s in Iligan City.

The famous Bangui Wind Farm and not to forget the Kapurpurawan rock formation. Both are from Ilocos Norte.

Did I also mention we went for an adventure too? Tried the Asia’s longest zip line at a place that’s blessed with a cold breeze, Bukidnon.

It was nerve-racking on the first place since I purchased an All Zip Package, can’t imagine if my stomach or maybe “I” could take the 3 zip lines in a row escapade. But gladly I did! It wasn’t alarming like what I expected. I could even ask for more. Lol enough for this zip line thing.

Well, who’s up for a water rafting adventure? You haven’t been to Cagayan de Oro if you haven’t tried this. Although it’s a bit tiring since it will take hours ‘til you arrive at your end point, but who cares? As long as you enjoyed.

OFF SHOULDER

Hello Sweeties! Back for an outfit post. Been gone for quite a long time. Here is an off shoulder flowy top I got from an online shop. Got the blue one because I personally think it matches well with my grayish floral skirt that I got from a mall downtown. I wore it with my gold shimmery stilettos. Wore this outfit during my younger sister’s commencement exercises that was followed by her graduation party at Astoria Royce Convention and Astoria Lotus, Zamboanga City (respectively).

SUGAR & BLUE: where sweets meet you

I was lucky enough when my friend invited me for an eat-all-you-can buffet. He gave me two tickets for free! - in which he paid for 180 pesos each. So I was giddy and told my girl friend to come with me so that the other ticket will not be wasted.

“Sugar and blue” although I didn’t really get the hang out of “blue” there. But I assumed that we’d be taking in some sweets, since it was “sugar”. And I guessed that right! The place was good. And like most of the buffet style restaurants; left overs, take outs and sharing of foods are not allowed too.

We tried their peanut, strawberry, chocolate, durian and yema puffs. They also served red velvet cupcakes, rainbow cake, calamay and a ‘pinoy kakanin’ called suman. They even handed us a scoring sheet - felt like a masterchef judge for that matter. If I would rate the overall performance, I’d probably give them an 8 out of 10. Job well done!

TAKE DOWN NOTES. Don’t be lazy. That’s the most important thing. Our minds don’t work like computers or robots. A lot of us are not blessed with a sharp memory, so we tend to forget things out of the norm. But hey there’s one solution for that and let me repeat, TAKE DOWN NOTES.
ASK QUESTIONS. Majority of us are afraid to ask questions about the things that we didn’t understand. Reasons are (a) you’re shy, or (b) you’re afraid that your classmates might laugh at you. C’mon! Nobody’s perfect, you know.
RESEARCH AND DO THE ADVANCE READING. Of course your teacher would probably tell you about a hint of your next topic. So do the move! Research and do the advance reading. If he’s not the type of teacher who announces it, then you can open your subject text book and look for the next topic.
REVIEW YOUR LECTURES. Right after school or before going to bed, review your lessons. It will lessen your burden for your upcoming exams. So when that time comes, you don’t have to panic in studying, all you have to do is review. No time for cram!
UNDERSTAND IN YOUR OWN WORDS. If possible, avoid memorizing your lessons. It’s not advisable for students like us. The tendency is it will only confuse you on what word comes after another word that you’ve memorized. Bonus tip: try to talk in front of a mirror and imagine that you’re the teacher. Explain to your students what you have learned without looking at your notes.
PEACEFUL STUDY AREA. Avoid a crowded and noisy place. It will distract you from studying. A perfect study area is somewhere peaceful, clean, organized and comfortable.
TEST YOURSELF. Make a test questionnaire to check if you understood what you studied. Close your notes, don’t talk and time yourself as what you’re required to do in school exams. In that manner, you can already rate yourself.
GET ENOUGH SLEEP. It will make your brain ready for your exam. A big NO to all-night study. Refer to number 4 for the solution.

Remember that Albert Einstein once said “GENIUS IS 1% TALENT AND 99% HARD WORK”.

I am the eldest yet often mistaken as the youngest.
I’m 5’0 and my feet usually hang off the chairs. Lol.
I love to sing even if I don't do it well. Just so you know, I’m an award-winning bathroom singer.
I talk to myself more than anyone else in this world. Lol.
I perspire when i’m tensed and I hate that.
I am a complete mess while eating, I unintentionally spill a lot of food.
I love any food that has cheese on it.
My friends consider me as a man-hater, in point of fact, I am not. I maybe elusive but totally not a man-hater.
I love surprises but never with creepy-crawlies, I’d curse you. Haha.
I chew ice even when I’m in a restaurant, like I don't care who stares.
I ate almost a hundred “isaw” last month. That’s a skill, yes, because I said so.
I am a bag hoarder.
I love kids. Basically the reason why moms entrust their kids with me.
I am a big kid at heart. I love mallows, choco, stick-o, ice cream, cotton candy and whatnot.
I prefer books with sad endings, I know it’s weird but I like crying. It makes me feel that the book and I are one.
I can’t look right straight into the eyes of someone I like.
I love wearing pajamas all day long, it’s so comfy!
I lost my first ever phone when I was in Grade 3. Haha. Nokia 3310.
My dream business is a cupcake shop.

My favorite scents

I thought of having a perfume review of my favorite scents that actually occupy space on my perfume table. I believe that wonderful products deserve a space on my blog. I must say, these two are definitely my favorites so far.

On your left is Britney Spears Cosmic Radiance perfume. A spray of it is enough to make you aromatic the whole day. Moreover, I really love the bottle. I surely won’t throw it away when it’ll be empty anytime soon.

You can purchase here. I tell you, it’ll be worth it.

On your right is Chance Chanel perfume. The smell is quite pungent at first, I repeat, at first. Eventually it turns out aromatic. I like using this on a sunny day with long walks, it never fails to disappoint me. I don’t need to re-spray it.

I would highly recommend these two sweet-but-not-overly perfumes. These are pretty useful to keep you aromatic for a whole day activity.

I’m so sorry for your loss :( I can’t explain why but I cried upon reading your blogpost about your grandparents. I know and I admit that I am not a good granddaughter to my grandma and your blogpost just made me realize that I should cherish the time while she’s still here with us.

I believe this deserves a space on my blog. Anyway, we all commit mistakes that we don’t notice sometimes until such time we’ll realize that we’ve slipped up. Hi Ate Z! Hope you’re having a good day! Im so delighted that you chose me to be one of this, Im sorry this took a lot of time. I haven’t checked my inbox for a long time. So yeah, anyway here are the five, I believe, nice things about me.

I am family oriented. I feel safe and secured when im with them, it’s always a pleasure to wake up everyday seeing them. My time spent with them is worth every second. Because when all else fails, they’re my strength. I love them a lot. Family is forever.

I love making people happy. Though at some point, I may look stupid and weird, but I guess that’s the essence of life after all. It’s being happy and making people happy.

I am appreciative. Big or small things can really make me happy like a kid who got a new toy. I even have a box filled with memorable stuffs that was given by special people. And wow, I need a bigger one though.

I don’t profligate. Impulse buying is not my thing. I can manage my allowance by dividing it into two; for my daily needs and half of it will go to my savings. My parents admire me for that.

and of course not to brag, I am a sweet damsel. *winks* then eventually *laughs*, not the clingy type. I like surprising people. I like making them feel how much I love them, maybe not by words but I assure you that indeed, my actions speak louder than my words.

Can’t stand those people talking behind my back. Say it infront of my face and we’ll try to find a way to deal with it. But if you’re dumb, well…

If you find me very secretive. I accept that, in one way or another, I am a chattery person. I talk a lot to reliable people. To people that I am comfortable with. To people that shares their thoughts with me as much of a muchness as I do. If you’re shareable, why not? I open up when I know you’re trustworthy enough. It’s hard for me to trust anyone and even harder today. I dont wanna jeopardize myself from keeping anything about me to blabby ones. So if I cant share it with you, respect.

If you find me unapproachable, precisely because you’re unapproachable too. I can be as friendly as you want me to be and I can be hostile as you wouldn’t wish me to be. I try to fit in to groups that I feel out of place, not to the extent that it’s more of a hi-im-trying-to-fit-in game than wow-im-fitting-in-already. I get tired, who doesn’t? If it’s not my world, let it be.

If you got a problem with my unreplied messages, bear with that. I dont own a loading company, I can’t have credits all the time. I am not free 24/7 to check my phone and fb, so basically you’ll get a late reply. If I don’t reply, prior to the credits, it’s either I don’t have anything to say or I simply didn’t like your message. Nevertheless, I still understand those seened messages. No “Thank you, Kathy”, not even a two lettered word “ty” yet you judge me quickly.

Forming an opinion is different from judging without a hitch. Once you are being true, people will judge you quickly but they are slow in correcting themselves. Grow up, start now.

Every time I see these photos, it kills me. It’s like a ten wheeler truck hit me by the ground. These photos were taken last march 2, 2012 beyond 7pm, just 4 days before his death. I can’t imagine that he’s gone. Of all his grandchildren, I can consider myself as his favourite. Yuuhh! I can still remember those doughnuts I bought whenever a ten peso is left from my baon, Bavarian flavour- yan ang flavour na binibili ko for him. I miss the way he speaks; we were tapped out by his awesomeness in speaking English language whenever he is drunk. No doubts, he was a Suma Cum Laude during his college year. Then he met my lola. Though they got married at a young age, they were still able to raise their 7 children in a simple way (in rural). Because of their perseverance and hard work, they got the opportunity and enough money to be able to live in an urban place; I saw the courage and love they had shown for each other. They used to sell bibingka, isaw and uling. Though they already had enough money to relax and stay away from heavy jobs, they still worked. Until they grew old together, 62 years of marriage. And it all ended last march 6,2012, two days before my birthday.

But the pain of yesterday still remains today. As I see my lola sitting alone on a bench outside our house, I know he misses lolo. She stares at the sky, watching over the stars and says “tua na imung lolo” then tears came running down from her eyes.

But that was 2 years ago. 2 years that wasn’t really enough to mend our hearts from that crestfallen time. And now my Lola is finally home, home with her one true love(my lolo) and with God. I saw how my Lola was saddened because of Lolo’s death, she was bereft but stayed strong. She may have that different outlook but deep down I know how much she misses Lolo. There was this line that her son(my uncle) stated in his eulogy, “When Papang died 2 years ago, I have prepared myself because I know that Mamang wont stay long anymore.”. Yes, we all live in a borrowed time and she have reached her octogenarian status, but it wasn’t what I expected. I lost my grandparents in a span of 2 years. The thought is veritably painful. But nevertheless, I am very thankful for giving her 85 years to live in this wonderful world and for 19 years and counting of having a generous and blithesome Grandma. Your memories, be it sad or happy will be stamped in our hearts, your mouthwatering and luscious bibingka and puto will forever be our favourite. I love you both!! Until then!!
